Manage Talk Apps
Talk Apps gives you the tools to engage with employees. All apps (except for Recognition, Calendar, and Tasks) relate to the content you configure from the Content page. To configure and manage apps, they must first be deployed. After an app is deployed, the content you create will be available to Talk users.
From the Apps page you:
- Deploy apps for people to use in Talk mobile and desktop.
- Manage whether everyone can access an app or only specific groups. (Groups are not supported for Tasks.)
- Remove apps from deployment.
Talk app categories:
- Event. Create and publish meeting and feed posts for Talk employees. See Manage Talk Events.
- Poll. Create polls that display in the Feed to help engage users and request their feedback. See Manage Talk Polls.
- Recognition. Allows users to publicly express their appreciation and endorse a coworker by posting a card with a personal message. Other team members can like the post and add their own comments. To upload images to be available for Recognition cards, see Manage Talk Image Library.Note: When deploying the app to Everyone, ensure Activity Feed is enabled from the Settings page under Content and Collaboration. This ensures Talk user endorsements will post to the feed. Also, when the app is configured for specific groups, the Feed style groups setting must be enabled.
- Ideabox. Post challenges to gather feedback and encourage users to contribute ideas about solving challenges. The top ideas are awarded gold, silver, and bronze ribbons. See Manage Talk Ideabox Challenges.
- Calendar. Allows users to view their work schedule for any day in the current or following month. They can schedule meetings and view the meetings they are attending. The Talk calendar app synchronizes the user's work schedule with the parent product, allowing users to see their schedule within Talk then navigate to their calendar in the parent product.
- Folder. A central location where you upload, organize, and share documents to Talk groups and users. See Manage Talk Document Folders.
- Announcement. Create and publish announcement posts to communicate important organization and management updates. See Manage Talk Announcements.
- Surveys. Add surveys created with Survey Monkey to the Talk Feed to solicit employee feedback. See Manage Talk Surveys.
- Tasks. Create and assign tasks to one or more employees. Tasks are communicated in a chat message to all employees assigned the task. For more information, see Talk Tasks. Note: For Talk users on mobile, the Task app is available from the Apps screen. For Talk desktop users, the Task dashboard is available when you click the Tasks menu but is not available from the Apps page.
