Moderate Reported Content in Talk
Talk admins with content management permissions can moderate user content reported as inappropriate, including posts and comments made in the feed, groups, and apps. Admins act upon reported posts from the Content Moderation page and determine whether reported posts should be allowed (restored) or blocked (removed). A history of reported posts remains available on the page.
Note: To view line charts that show trends for posts reported by users as inappropriate and flagged by the system for negative tone and language, see
Review and Export Talk Analytics.
Inappropriate posts/comments may be reported as follows:
-
Automatically by the system. Talk automatically flags a user post/comment as inappropriate when negative language or tone is detected. Auto reported posts remain visible in Talk only to the user who created the post, with a banner note indicating that the content is under review and will be visible to others only after admin approval.Note: Enable automatic system reporting from Settings. For more information, see Manage Talk Settings.
- By a user. If one Talk user reports a post/comment as inappropriate, it is removed from the Talk Feed for moderation. Users report posts because of spam, nudity, hate speech and violence, copyright infringement, or another reason they specify.
See reported post statuses
Posts on the Content Moderation page display one of five statuses. The status changes based on the actions you or a user take.
- Hidden (user reported only). The post/comment is not currently visible in Talk. When a user reports a post, it is automatically removed (hidden) from the feed. Admins either allow (restore) the post in the feed or block it to keep it hidden.
- Allowed. The admin has restored the post/comment to the feed.
- Visible (system reported only). When the system reports a post, it is visible in the feed only to the post creator. Admins either allow the post to be visible to Talk users or block the post to remove it.
- Blocked. The admin has blocked the post/comment from displaying in the feed. A blocked post can be restored at a later time.
- Deleted. A post/comment will display as Deleted when the user who originally posted it has deleted it from the feed. These deleted posts cannot be restored.
