Configure Rotation Schedule
The Rotation Schedule functionality is used for long-term planning and enables organizations to create a rotation schedule based on the needs of a location or group of locations. You can create a Rotation Schedule template in advance and publish the schedule to the system for the specified time span.
When you create a Rotation Schedule template, you specify the length for the rotation and the number of rows needed (one row for each position needed in the rotation). For each row, a position is specified with a job assignment and include a series of shift types for the rotation schedule. Eligible employees are then assigned to the positions so that the shifts in the row are assigned to them when the template is published. The Publish functionality rolls out the Rotation Schedule template to the Schedule Planner to enable Schedulers to prepare the schedule for posting. Any positions without an assigned employee are created as appropriate open shifts in the schedule. For managing long-term absences, rows can be temporarily unassigned so you can specify a temporary replacement.
Enable Rotation Schedule for managers
Every manager who requires access to Rotation Schedule must have the appropriate access enabled.
Rotation Schedulers who access and edit Rotation Schedule templates must be assigned the required Function Access Profiles (FAP) and Generic Data Access Profiles (GDAP). If the required access is not assigned, errors may occur when retrieving or editing Rotation Schedule templates.
The Generic Data Access Profile must include access to Accruals – Date Patterns, specifically access to all Contract Definitions included in schedule rule sets (Period Hours tab). Lack of Date Patterns access may result in errors when retrieving shift templates.
Granting access to Date Patterns within the existing GDAP resolves this issue without requiring full GDAP assignment.
