Leave of Absence Case Request Notifications

  1. Configure a reviewer purpose.
    1. Navigate to Application Setup > Common Setup > Reviewer Purposes.
    2. Click Tap Insert a new row and enter a name and description for the reviewer purpose.
    3. Click Tap Save.
  2. Create a reviewer list.
    1. Navigate to Application Setup > Common Setup > Reviewer Lists.
    2. Select New.
    3. Enter a Name and Description.
    4. Select Time Off from the Type drop-down.
    5. Enter at least one Step:
      • Select a reviewers from the drop-down.
      • To add additional reviewers to the same step select add and repeat step e.
      • To add additional steps click tap Insert a new row and add reviewers.
    6. (Optional) Add recipients:
      • Select a recipient from the drop-down.
      • To add additional recipients click tap Insert a new row and add recipients.
      • To add a specific person as a reviewer select Search from the drop-down. Search for the person and select OK.
    7. Click Tap Save or Save & Return.
  3. Create a generic notification.
    1. Navigate to Application Setup > Event/Notification > Workflow Notifications Informs people to run business processes or integrations, complete forms, or respond to events in business processes. Example: Approve a time-off request..
    2. Click Tap New > Generic Notification then click tap Ok.
    3. Enter a name and description.
    4. Select a priority (Low, Medium, or High) for the notification. The priority is used to drive Notification Profiles and delivery methods.
    5. (Optional) Select One-click navigation in E-mail to include a URL to the appropriate navigator widget that the user will use to address the alert.
    6. In the Recipients section, select Recipient List will be supplied at runtime.
    7. In the Suppress Duplicate Alerts area, Specify how often the same message is resent by selecting one of the options:
      • Resend every day
      • Resend every. If selected enter an amount of time.
      • Do not suppress duplicates
    8. In the Message area, customize the Subject, Long Message, and Short Message text boxes by selecting the appropriate custom tags. Click in one of the text boxes, select Insert Custom Tags and select one of the following groups. Then select the applicable custom tags in the group to form the alert. For more information, see Custom tags.
    9. (Optional) Enter Control center fields which will appear along with the notification in control center. Enter a Label and Value for each. Use Custom tags as necessary.
    10. (Optional) Select theTrigger Business Process An organized flow of activities or tasks that achieves a business goal. An automated business process minimizes the amount of paperwork and manual tasks to complete that process by way of automatic actions, online forms, and automatically generated messages. check box and provide the following information:
      1. Select the applicable template from the drop-down.

        Note: Only the templates that are deployed and active are listed here.

      2. Select Trigger Business Process only to run the template without any generic notification action or messages to recipients.
      3. Select one of the following buttons to indicate how the Business Process will run:
        • Notification Recipient List — The recipient list is the same as that of notification.
        • System User — The notification will be sent as the WBAUSER system account.
    11. Click Tap Save.
  4. Create an event for the generic notification.
    1. Navigate to Application Setup > Event/Notification > Control Center Notification Mapping.
    2. Click Tap New .
    3. Enter an Event Name.
    4. Select Leave from the Domain drop-down.
    5. Select Leave of Absence Case from the Event type from the drop-down.
    6. Select the generic notification created in Step 3 from the Notification drop-down.
    7. (Optional) Select a Navigation Page from the drop-down.
    8. Select an Icon from the drop-down. This icon will be used in Control Center.
    9. Click Tap Save.

  5. Define the approval step settings.
    1. Navigate to Application Setup > Employee Self Service > Approval > Approval Step Setting.
    2. Click Tap New.
    3. Enter a Name and Description.
    4. Select the generic notification created in step 4 from Approver Notification upon Request Reception.
    5. Select a generic notification from the for the Reminder Message drop-down and enter a number of days after the initial message for the reminder message to be sent.
    6. (Optional) Set Automatic Action upon inactivity:
      • Automatic Action — Select Approve or Reject to automatically take the selected action after the specified number of days with no action.
      • Inactive Approver Notification — Select a generic notification from the drop-down to send if the Approver is inactive.
      • Inactive Approver's Manager Notification — Select a generic notification to send if the Approver's manager is inactive.
    7. Click Tap Save.
  6. Create request subtypes Classifications of schedule requests from employees..
    1. Navigate to Application Setup > Employee Self Service > Request Subtypes.
    2. Click Tap New.
    3. Enter a Name and Description.
    4. Enter a Symbol.
    5. Select Leave of Absence Case from the Request Type drop-down.
    6. (Optional) Select Automatic approval if you would like the request to be automatically approved.
    7. Select the Approval Step Setting in created in Step 5 from the drop-down.
    8. (Optional) Select Enter additional info step to prompt answers to answers to additional information sections during the leave case request.
    9. (Optional) Select Answer eligibility questions step to ask eligibility questions during the leave case request.
    10. (Optional) Select Specify paid leave types step to prompt the selection of paid leave types during the leave case request.
    11. (Optional) Select Specify Tracking leave types step to prompt the selection of tracking leave types during the leave case request.
    12. (Optional) Select an External Action from the drop-down.
    13. Select Save.
