Combined Paycodes
Combined paycodes are totals of several paycodes. For example, a combined paycode named Grand Overtime is the sum of all overtime paycodes, such as overtime and double time.
Combined paycodes can include money and time paycodes, but the combined paycode must have a type of time or money.
Use the Combined Paycodes page ( ) and the following information to define combined paycodes.
-
Apply As Of— Is the date from which the system considers that the combined paycode exists. It defaults to the current date when you open the page, regardless of the date that was selected the last time the rule was saved. Enter an earlier date to allow the combined paycode to start before the current date. You cannot enter a future date.
Note:
The Apply As Of date is not an Effective Date. Changing this date does not create versions of this combined paycode.
If this date is changed in the future to a new date, the system will then consider that this Combined Paycode did not exist until that new date. Changing this date and saving the Combined Pay Code does not retain the Combined Paycode's history.
Therefore, no transactions that were calculated using this Combine Pay Code before the new Apply As of Date will be retained by the system in the event that Historical Corrections are Enabled for a given employee.
Best practice is to create a new Combined Paycode with a new Apply As of Date, and assign the new Combined Paycode to other building blocks as needed.
- Summarize in— Specify whether the combined paycode holds hours, money, or days.
-
Visible in Report Options and Report Totals— The combined paycode appears in Report options and Report totals.
Note: Dataviews do not display totals for nested combined paycodes.
- Visible on Totals Tab in Timecard— The combined paycode appears in the Totals tab on the timecard.
Move the applicable paycodes from the Available Paycodes column to the Selected Paycodes column:
-
Available Paycodes— Currently defined paycode definitions and combined paycodes.
Note: If you are editing a combined paycode, the paycodes that are part of the combined paycode are not included on this list.
- Selected Paycodes— Paycodes in the combined paycode.
