Configure Swap Recommendation Settings

To generate recommendations, the system considers the following:

• The employee's history of shift swaps:
  • Often swap with specific employees
  • Often work a specific day
  • Often work a specific combination of days
  • Often work a specific job
  • Often work at a specific location
• The employee's explicit preferences:
  • Match a preferred job
  • Match a preferred availability
  • Match a preferred work zone
  • Willingness to work more hours
• The employee's inferred preferences:
  • Similarity to the shift that is offered
  • Similarity to a shift that the employee usually works
  • Shift duration
  • Shift time
  • Shift job or location
  • Match to skills and certification
  • Work with a person that the employee often works with
  • Work with friends

Swap recommendations are disabled by default.

(Optional) In the swap recommendations settings, you can enable or disable any of the recommendations, and customize the messages.

1. Click Tap Main Menu  > Administration > Application Setup > Employee Self Service > Recommendations > Swap Recommendation Settings. 
2. Do one of the following: 
   • Click Tap New. Enter a Name .
   • Select one set of swap recommendation settings. Click Tap Edit.

     In Save Changes to, select one of the following:

     Save changes everywhere that the named entity is used. Entity: {SettingsName} — Make the changes to all swap recommendation settings that have the same name.

     Save as a new named entity — Make a new swap recommendation settings.

   • Select swap recommendation settings. You cannot delete settings that are being used. Click Tap Delete. Click Tap Yes to confirm.
3. (Optional) Enter a Description. 
4. For each recommendation, do the following:
   1. (Optional) In Message Override, enter a custom message that fits your organization. Tip: Keep the message short so that it is readable on small screens.
   2. In Enabled, select the button to enable recommendations. Clear the button to disable recommendations that are not appropriate to your organization.
5. Click Tap Save.
