Configure access to Business Process

Configure the Function Access Profile (FAP) of administrators so that they can configure Business Processes An organized flow of activities or tasks that achieves a business goal. An automated business process minimizes the amount of paperwork and manual tasks to complete that process by way of automatic actions, online forms, and automatically generated messages..

Caution: Business Processes can access almost any data in the system. To preserve data security and privacy, make sure that only trusted personnel have permissions to create and assign Business Processes, and that they do so in a way that protects data and prevents exposure of data to people who are not privileged to access that data.

  1. Click Main Menu  > Administration > Application Setup > Access Profiles > Function Access Profiles
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click New. Enter a Name
    • Select a profile to change or copy. Click Edit or Duplicate.
    • Select a profile to remove. You cannot delete system profiles. Click Delete. Click Yes to confirm. 
  3. (Optional) Enter a Description.
  4. To make this profile the default profile, select Default.
  5. From Function, select the role and functions. Click the plus (+) signs for child roles or functions. All functions are Disallowed by default.
  6. Select Manager — Common Setup.
  7. Select Hyperfind A search engine that filters and selects groups of employees through queries that specify conditions or locations (criteria). > Query Conditions > Business Processes. In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow access to the query conditions for Business Processes.
  8. Select Process Management Setup.

     Tip: To select all components of process management at once, in Process Management Setup > Access Scope select Allowed.

    • Process Administration Access: In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow access to the Business Process administration pages.
    • Add Templates to Process Profiles: In Add, Edit, Delete, or View, select Allowed to add or remove process templates A file that automates and directs the flow of a business process. It contains the tasks, people, and rules that define the process. to or from process profiles.
    • Business Processes: In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow the person to activate Business Processes in the system.
    • Web Service Configuration access: In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow configuration of the web service.
    • Create New Process Models: In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow access to the Workflow Designer.
    • Process Models: In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow the person to configure Business Process Models.
    • Deploy Process Models: In Access Scope, select Allowed to allow the administrator to deploy Business Process Models.
  9. Select Manager—System Configuration,
  10. Beans are classes that encapsulate many objects. Select APIs > API Beans.

    Tip: To allow access to all beans, in API Beans > Access Scope, select Allowed.

    • Common Beans: In View, select Allowed to allow delegated actions.
  11. Click Save & Return
  12. Associate Access Profiles to people

    Make sure that the access profiles are associated with the relevant managers or administrators. If you don't have access to People Information, contact the administrator who does have access.

    1. Click Main Menu  > Maintenance > People Information. Select a person.
    2. In Employee, select Access Profiles.
    3. Select the Function Access Profile.
    4. Click Save
    5. Repeat for other people.
